The 175th Year Journey – Our Story

Celebrating America 250 at the Historic Marbold Farmstead

Join us as we honor 175 years of Elmwood’s story and look ahead to America’s 250th anniversary. This special celebration brings together history, community, and summertime fun in a setting that has witnessed generations of local life.

Event Highlights

• Ice Cream Social – Enjoy a sweet treat from Athen’s own The Corner Cup ice cream shop while relaxing on the grounds
• Patriotic Program – Enjoy a wonderful program presented by HMFA President, Barbara VanDyke Brown. She will present an interactive program combining America 250 and the Marbold Farmsteads 175-year History. Program performance 2-3 PM
• History Experiences – Explore the stories, artifacts, and people who shaped Elmwood
• Children’s Activities – Hands‑on fun designed to spark curiosity and imagination
• Live Music – Bring a chair, settle in, and enjoy the sounds of popular local music duo, Peaches and Bacon. Performances 1-2 PM & 3-4 PM.
• Drone Group Photo Op – Be part of a special and rare photo opportunity. Photo will be taken at 3 PM.
