From spring to winter, our events offer something for everyone—history buffs, curious travelers, families with kids, and members of our local community. Here’s just a glimpse of the kinds of events you can expect throughout the year:
Step back in time at our beloved Ladies’ Tea, where elegance meets history. Savor delicate treats, engage in thoughtful conversation, and immerse yourself in a fascinating program on 1800s ladies’ garments—all within the charming ambiance of a beautifully preserved historic setting.
This year marks 175 years since the Marbold Farmstead was established—and we’re celebrating with those who make it all possible: our volunteers. The 175th Anniversary Celebration honors the countless hours and heart our volunteers have poured into preserving this historic site. It’s a time to reflect, reconnect, and recognize the power of community.
Events like our Annual Tour de Heartland bike ride offer a scenic and refreshing way to connect with the countryside. Riders of all skill levels enjoy curated routes that pass through peaceful rural landscapes, ending with a community celebration back at the Farmstead.
Our beloved Heritage Festival is a seasonal favorite that brings people together to celebrate the spirit of the Farmstead. Enjoy live demonstrations, music, food, artisan vendors, vintage tractors and antique farm equipment, tours and history, historical programs, and hands-on fun for all ages. This cherished tradition honors our agricultural heritage and the community that keeps it alive.
“The Marbold Farmstead is a hidden gem! The volunteers are so passionate and knowledgeable about 19th-century farm life. It’s like stepping back in time.” – Jane D.
Support the Farmstead’s mission through meaningful events like our Annual Dinner and Auction. These gatherings combine good food, good company, and a shared passion for preservation—all helping ensure the Farmstead remains a resource for generations to come.
Christmas at Elmwood Update We’re truly saddened to share that Christmas at Elmwood at the Historic Marbold Farmstead will not take place this year. The snow and ice have proven too much to clear in time, and your safety is always our top priority. While we’ll miss gathering together in the glow of the season, we’re grateful for your support and understanding. May your holidays be filled with warmth, joy, and cherished moments—and we look forward to celebrating with you at Elmwood in the future.
