The Farm That Helped Shape Central Illinois

In 1851, German immigrant Johann Marbold built a home that became the heart of a thriving farmstead—and a symbol of innovation, resilience, and community. Together with his son, H. H. what began as a modest homestead grew into a hub of agricultural progress, hospitality, and family legacy.

But like many stories, this one ended and faced the risk of being forgotten. That’s where we—and you—come in.

We Preserve It So You Can Experience It

The Historic Marbold Farmstead Association has worked tirelessly to restore buildings, unearth the stories, and bring new life to the grounds. Today, when you visit, you’re walking in the footsteps of real people whose dreams and determination echo across time.
